14 days of Valentines

I have been wanting to do this for a few years and I finally am ready on February 1st to get it done.

I wanted to Show Brian how much I love and appreciate him by doing thoughtful things this month. We both think it is kind of a waste of money to feel forced to buy the one you love flowers, jewelry, and such and so we don't. So I thought by doing everyday thoughtful things I could really show him how much I love him. Here is my game plan for the 14 days of Valentines:

Day 1
Write a note explaining my love an the 14 days of valentines and then cut it up in a puzzle and leave it in his lunch. I also included a poem and red hot candy for a little bit of "Cupid Poop"

Day 2
So if anybody knows me really well they will tell you the one things that I do not do as a wife is iron. I hate it. i do everything else so if Brian needs something ironed he does it himself. So for day 2 I am going to iron all his clothes and leave a heart in the closet. (this is a good one for us, trust me!)

Day 3
I am going to get up at 4:30, while he is in the shower, and make him a nice breakfast. This really shows my love because he only gets this on his Birthday!!! I think a little German pancakes with fresh fruit and whip cream and OJ will do the trick!

Day 4
I am going to have a big plate of heart shaped rice crispy treats in his car for him that have little notes in frosting on them. This way he can bring the plate to work and share!!

Day 5
14 little heart shaped notes with 14 reasons why i love him or am glad that he is part of my life. either taped on the windows in his car, the bathroom mirror, or the fridge! I haven't decided.

Day 6
I am going to make him a big heart shaped pizza for dinner

Day 7
I am going to make a big heart shaped chocolate chip cookie, the kids can help me after church. It will be fun!

Day 8
When he gets home from work we will have red/pink snacks. The kids can help prepare it and make him a few decorations for the table and then enjoy it with him. I am thinking..... Red Jello, Red apples, and whole wheat bagels with strawberry cream cheese.

Day 9
Brownies with x's and o's. This is going to be the first one that will be delivered at work. Since I am not allowed to go in his building i am going to enlist the help of his dad who can meet me outside and then bring them to him. I will also give him a few more things to be delivered on other days. A big plate of Brownies is also something else that is fun to share with co-workers. I hope he doesn't get embarrassed!!!

Day 10
The kids and I will massively decorate the bedroom with streamers, little chocolates (from the dollar store of course!) and paper hearts and all sorts of fun!! I can't wait for this one because you know the kids will not be able to contain their excitement when he walks through the door.

Day 11
A snickers bar (his favorite) delivered by his dad at work with some clever love note with it!

Day 12
Another thoughtful note in his car to boost his day!!

Day 13
100,000 candy bar with some clever note left in his car after Stake basketball.

Day 14
The big day!!! This is a Sunday this year. Luckily he has meetings in the morning so I can prepare this. (wait, is that the second Sunday? I have meetings too. ugh, I will have to be very prepared!)
So our tradition on Valentines day with the kids is to have a treasure hunt. Each person has a different colored heart at the starting place and then they follow the clues on the hearts to a surprise. We did this as kids and loved it. It was a great way to make a somewhat silly holiday fun for everyone. So I was thinking I could get up early and make a cheesecake and his treasure hunt will end in the fridge with a cheesecake (his absolute favorite dessert) I was thinking of asking him to keep the kids at church for a few minutes so I can go get the treasure hunts put together. then I will also make a big dinner with all of his favorites. This day might bee tricky if i want the Cheesecake to be a surprise but I will make it work!

There were so many ideas to choose from that it made it hard to choose just 14. And yes, most of them involve desserts and candy, but they are mostly homemade (made with love right?) I guess it is a good excuse to get some extra baking done and have yummy treats around. That is why I will send most of them to work with him. I love my husband so much and I can't wait to do so many things for him. He deserves it and maybe it will encourage me to do more small acts of love throughout the year!!!

totally awesome! You put the rest of us to shame. What a great idea, of which I know I'll never have the ambition, fortitude, and planning to do. You are such a great wife and mommy!
