The Move

THE HOUSE (as I was pulling away, sniff, sniff)

We have had so many good times and have so many good memories here that it is hard to believe we don't own it anymore. As of Today, we no longer have our first home. WE loved this place so much that we wish we could have taken it with us to O'Fallon. Everything about it was perfect for our family, the fenced beautiful yard, the slide off the deck, the layout of the beautiful home, the location right next to the park... It was all just amazing, the only downfall...not in the area we want to be forever. We loved our time in Festus as well as all the amazing people that we will miss so much but we ultimatley just wanted to be in O'Fallon because we love the area so much and it is closer to family. We just felt it was the right time to make the move and settle down in a place we know we could live forever.

As far as the move goes...all went pretty smooth. As far as selling the house goes...it was pretty much a nightmare and I truly hope I never have to do that again! Every thing from home showings to closing day (never use Hilsboro Title!!) was just one hassle and mix up after another.

We were lucky enough to have a friend take the older kids over night the evening before we moved so we could just work and get packed. It was amazing and we ar so thankful for that. However, now I don't have any pictures of them enjoying this experience and getting to see the house empty and laoding teh truck and what not. That is okay, Cooper had a blast end enjoyed his time with Mom and Dad. He thought taking the bunk beds apart was the greatest thing ever. He jumped on those mattresses for over an hour. Here he is getting a some last minute play in before these went into the truck

This is the slide that was on our deck. he loved that thing and since we installed it for his birthday and the buyer does not have children we thought it would be fine to take it with us and repair that part of the deck!!

He thought the truck was pretty neat. Luckily he has an early bed time and we were able to get a lot done still!

The move went really great and we had some really great people come and help us out. Seriously I could not believe how much work Brian and his Dad did in a three day period. They were like super heros. I was really impressed. It is all done though and I feel settled (for now, until we buy a house I guess!!) The kids have loved every minute of living at Grandma's house and keep asking if we get to stay another night. I am not sure if they fully understand. Here is a picture of what they kids have been up to...
A little chair spinning

A little chair eating!

We have had so much fun this last week and are so excited to be here. I daho is our next adventure in two weeks and then on to buying a house (hopefully a permanent one!!) Thanks to all who helped. We love you all!!

Moving is so bittersweet! It really motivates you to find a "permanent" home. Hope you are doing good.

AW SAD! I am all melancholy because of all the good times in that house! But I'm glad you guys are able to go to O'Fallon like you have wanted to.

And that story about Callen at Aldi is so cute!
