Tangles

Friday morning I woke up to tangles tangles tangles in Addie's hair. I asked her if she wanted it cut and she said sure. I was shocked. So I searched a little bit to find out about Locks for Love and then told Addie we would go in right after the gym. Later that morning she said, "Mom, I am a little nervous." I couldn't lie and I was nervous too so we talked about it a little bit and decided to do it.
Here are some before shots. You have to have 10 inches of uncolored, healthy hair to donate to qualify for locks of love. Addie's stylist cut 12 INCHES.

I about Died when I saw how short it was but she looks so beautiful and the cut is adorable. Here are some After shots!

I have completely mixed emotions. Addie looks so grown up now and ever time I see her it shocks me how old she looks and I want to cry to think my little girl is so big. I also am incredibly sad that I can not braid, loop, twist, and create with her hair any more. I know it will grow back! On the other end, she looks so incredibly cute and I do not have to fight tangles anymore!!! Luckily Addie loves it. I was nervous to approach the chair when I caught a glimpse of the length and was sure to find tears in her eyes (there were almost some in mine). She didn't say much while we were there but in the car on the way home she said happily, "Mom, I love it, I really love it!" Yes, success!!!!!

She DOES look so grown up...and SO MUCH like YOU! It looks really good and it's good that you decided to donate it to a good cause. Speaking of the gym, we just joined the Y here and I went to a class tonight for the first time and it made me miss all of our good times!

Very cute! She should have made a wig for her hair-deficient cousins! Not sure if any of my girls will ever have as much hair as Addie in her "after" shot. :( ... no tangles to deal with though :)

Oh, I remember that EXACT moment with Meg! I was all kinds of emotions, she was having a great "girlie date at the salon". The ladies there made her feel so special. We were looking at old pictures of how long and blond her hair was back then. Sigh. Anyway, good job, mama!!

Laura- I am so happy that you joined the gym and I hope that Addie looks like me is a good thing. I am not sure about that. Thanks for the comment
Jessie- You are too funny. I love it. We can't wait to see you
Melynie-I love your comments. i am still all emotions. When I go pick her up at the gym after my class I have a hard time finding her because I forget. When I finally spot her it is like, "OH yeah. Her hair is short" She does look cute but I still mourn every once in a while! Miss you!!
